In 2022-23, Ullmark helped lead the Boston Bruins to the best regular season in NHL history. He was awarded the Vezina Trophy as well as the Jennings Trophy, given to the tandem with the fewest goals allowed, with partner Jeremy Swayman.

In the 2016-17 AHL season, Ullmark posted a 26-27-3 record with a 2.87 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. Playing in a league-leading 55 games, he became the first Amerks netminder since former team MVP David Leggio to appear in 50 or more games in a single season. Ullmark set new career-highs in saves (1,525), shots against (1,678), and minutes played (3,201), all of which led among goaltenders in the AHL. He was named Rochester’s Team MVP, its Most Popular Player, and he won the Fairand/O’Neil Sportsmanship Award. He was also named to the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic and earned the distinction of CCM Top Goaltender of the event.

In the years since, Ullmark spent one more season with the Rochester Americans before being called up to the National Hockey League full-time. He played three seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, amassing a 41-34-11 record from the 2018-19 season through 2020-21. Ullmark next signed a four-year deal with the Boston Bruins, where he surpassed his career-highs in games played and wins over the subsequent two seasons. In 2022-23, he posted a record of 40-6-1, a 1.89 goals against average, and a .938 save percentage, all of which led goaltenders in the NHL.
