The Oilers defeated the Calgary Flames, 7-4, in their season opener and first game at Rogers Place on October 12, 2016. The jersey is photo-matched. McDavid scored two goals with one assist while wearing the jersey, which includes the Rogers Place Inaugural Season patch. MeiGray collected the jersey from the Oilers' dressing room after the game. After an injury-shortened rookie season, McDavid truly arrived in 2016-17, scoring 30 goals with 70 assists without missing a game and taking home the Hart Memorial and Art Ross Trophies as a 20-year old.
