MacIntyre played with the Atlanta Thrashers during the 2010-11 preseason and spent the regular season with the Chicago Wolves and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. With the Wolves, he played in 20 games and recorded a 12-5-1 record, posting a .906 save percentage and a 2.91 goals against average. With the Bulldogs, his record was 12-6-2 in 21 games, but his personal stats improved to a .938 save percentage and a 1.38 goals against average. MacIntyre also played in 20 Calder Cup Playoff games with the Bulldogs, recorded an 11-9-0 record with similar statistics as Hamilton fell in the Western Conference Finals.

MacIntyre played in six NHL games between the 2008 and 2014 seasons, starting one game and finishing with a 0-2-0 record. His career save percentage was .912 and his goals against average was 2.41.
