Lambert played in 73 games for the Atlanta Thrashers during their inaugural season. He scored five goals and six assists while registering a league-leading 219 penalty minutes and engaging in 17 fights. He began the 1999-2000 season wearing the number 10, and switched to wearing 27 during the season.

During the 1999-2000 season, NHL teams wore the Millennium patch, or the 2000 patch, to celebrate the new millennium. For the Thrashers, these patches were removed from the jerseys of those players returning for the subsequent season so that the jerseys could be used again during the 2000-2001 preseason. This jersey had the 2000 patch removed by the equipment manager for the Thrashers.

The jersey includes a Certificate of Authenticity from the Atlanta Thrashers and is photo-matched to the Thrashers' home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 18, 2000.
