Over 17 seasons of play in the NHL during his ongoing career, Giordano has played for three teams, captaining two of them. As the second-longest tenured captain of the Calgary Flames, he spent eight seasons with the C on his jersey for the team that signed him, undrafted, in 2004. Giordano has amassed 155 goals, 568 points, and 869 penalty minutes over the course of 1,102 games. He was selected to the NHL's First All-Star Team in 2019, the year he won the Norris Trophy for the league's top defender. The next season, he was awarded the Mark Messier Leadership Award. He has been selected for the NHL All-Star Game three times. Playing for his country, Giordano won the Spengler Cup and a silver medal at the World Championship with Team Canada in 2008. He is signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs through the 2023-24 season.
