The Predators added the Covenant School Patch to their jerseys for the first time on April 1, 2023 to honor the three adults and three children who lost their lives in the mass shooting at the Presbyterian Church in America parochial elementary school in Nashville's Green Hills neighborhood.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Predators jerseys with the Covenant School Patch will be donated to the Caring for Covenant Fund to support the healing of those affected by this tragedy.
In 2022-23, Josi broke the Predators' franchise points record, becoming the second defender to lead an active NHL franchise in points. He became the second active defender with seven 50-point seasons, and had his ninth 10-goal season, second-most in Predators history. He finished first on the Predators in assists and points and third on the team in goals, scoring 18-41—59 in 67 games. Josi finished the season having passed the milestones of 800 career games, 150 career goals, and 600 career points.
