The Eagles wore their Black Alternates on November 19, 2006 against the Tennesee Titans. Mike Patterson was the Eagles first round pick, 31st overall, during the 2006 NFL Draft after winning back-to-back national championships anchoring USC's defensive line. In 2006 Patterson posted a career high 82 tackles. He recovered a fumble on 3rd down of a goal-line stand at San Francisco on September 24, 2006 and raced 98 yards for his first career touchdown. It was the longest fumble return in Eagles history and tied for 6th longest in NFL history.
