World Hockey Association collectors will covet this MeiGray Vintage gem: A 1977-78 road blue Indianapolis Racers jersey worn by defenseman Dave Inkpen.

The jersey, a Rawlings Size 48, is all original and is unique for several reasons: One, the Racers wore a non-serif style "2" in only this one season. Two, the powder blue original tiedown is still present in the neck. And three, the Racers screened their names onto a nameplate only in 1977-78 and 1978-79, the final season of the WHA.

The jersey displays stick marks on the bold and weathered crest, and marks and burns on the arms and body. An original fight-strap loop, common in jerseys in the late '70s, is sewn into the back.

Inkpen played four seasons in the WHA, and made three stops with the Racers. The defenseman scored a goal and nine assists in 24 games in 1977-78.

A MeiGray Vintage LOA, and an LOA from Frozen In Time, which sold this jersey to the consignor, will accompany this jersey.
