PHILADELPHIA FLYERS PAY TRIBUTE TO PHILADELPHIA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE DURING GAME AT WELLS FARGO CENTER ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19
The Philadelphia Flyers will honor the Philadelphia Police Department and the Police Athletic League (PAL) as part of their game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday, December 19 at 7 p.m.
This special theme night will begin with the Flyers wearing the Philadelphia Police Department crest on the right chest of their home sweaters worn during pre-game warm-ups. The entire roster of jerseys will be available for auction at MeiGray.com, the official game-worn jersey source of the Flyers, with proceeds benefitting Flyers Charities.
The Philadelphia Police Honor Guard Unit will present the colors on-ice during Lauren Hart’s performance of the National Anthem.
In addition, fans can learn more about PAL or register to volunteer or to make a donation to support PAL on the concourse at Thursday’s game.
Youth participants from PAL locations in the Philadelphia area will be the night’s special guests in Flyers Captain Claude Giroux’s “Giroux’s Crew” suite, and receive autographed photos of Giroux. The children will take part in a pre-game behind-the-scenes tour of the Wells Fargo Center and meet National Hockey League officials.
The Flyers will honor Philadelphia Police Officer Ernest Pollard as the “Virtua Community Teammate” for his years of service and dedication to the development of the Paley PAL Center, a center sponsored by the Flyers parent company, Comcast-Spectacor. Pollard will be presented with a personalized Flyers jersey in recognition of his services from Flyers Ambassador of Hockey Bob “The Hound” Kelly.
PAL is a long-standing partner of Comcast-Spectacor Charities.
