B-SENS TO WEAR THROWBACK OTTAWA JERSEYS
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today that the team will wear throwback Ottawa Senators’ jerseys on Saturday, Jan. 8 when they host the Rochester Americans at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Representatives of the MeiGray Group will be on hand to authenticate the jerseys, which will be up for auction at auctions.nhl.com beginning Thursday, Jan. 13.
The MeiGray Group will also have a display on the arena concourse which will feature Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin jerseys from the 2011 NHL Winter Classic, in addition to Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzkey jerseys as well as throwback Broome Dusters and Binghamton Whalers jerseys.
“Binghamton has always appreciated hockey’s heritage,” said Barry Meisel, the former Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin hockey writer and representative of the MeiGray Group.
“It will be an honor to be a part of the game night experience and share some historic jerseys with the great hockey fans of the Southern Tier.”
Tickets to Saturday’s game are $17.75 for side seating, $16.75 for end seating. Fans can purchase tickets at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 or in person at the Binghamton Senators’ executive office or the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena box office.
