Fabian Brunnstrom was wearing this jersey on October 15, 2008 when he became the third player in National Hockey League history to record a hat trick in his NHL debut at the time.

Brunnstrom scored his three goals in the Stars' 6-4 victory over the Nashville Predators at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The Swede joined Alex Smart of the Montreal Canadiens (Jan. 14, 1943) and Real Cloutier of the Quebec Nordiques (Oct. 10, 1979) as NHL rookies who scored hat tricks in their debuts. Two players, Derek Stepan of the New York Rangers (Oct. 9, 2010) and Auston Matthews (Dec. 10, 2016) have done it since.

Brunstrom scored 17 goals with 12 assists in 55 games as a rookie for Dallas in 2008-09 and two goals with nine assists in 44 games the following season. In 2011-12, his last NHL season, he had one assist in five games.
